Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a part-time Nurse Educator. This role is essential in providing medication education, patient support, and community health education initiatives. The Clinical Nurse Educator will facilitate the development of clinical competencies, enhance patient care practices, and ensure adherence to the latest medical standards and protocols. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing with experience in various clinical settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medication education and support to patients and community members.
  • Educate individuals on medication usage, safety, side effects, and adherence.
  • Develop and implement educational programs for nursing staff on best practices in patient care.
  • Conduct training sessions on medical terminology, medication administration, and pain management.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance clinical skills and knowledge among staff.
  • Assist with community health education initiatives.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and make necessary adjustments.
  • Provide mentorship and support to new nurses and nursing students.
  • Stay updated on current trends in healthcare, including advancements in Epic and Cerner systems.
  • Assist in case management and patient care planning, particularly in acute care settings.
  • Facilitate workshops on specialized topics such as pediatrics, home care, dementia care, and senior care.
  • Support laboratory staff with phlebotomy training and procedures.

Skills

  • Active Registered Nurse license.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
  • Extensive hospital experience with a focus on acute care environments.
  • Strong knowledge of pain management techniques and case management processes.
  • Experience in patient education, community outreach, or medication teaching preferred.
  • Ability to provide compassionate care for patients with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
  • Solid understanding of medical terminology relevant to patient care settings.
  • Experience in both home care environments and medical office operations is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively educate diverse groups of healthcare professionals.
