Full job description

Triumph Industrial Process Ltd., a locally owned and operated business in Nisku, is seeking a CNC Journeyman Machinist. Working in a fast-paced Jobber Shop, this position operates a variety of machinery to complete jobs to the highest standard.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, program and operate a variety of machine tools including computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools to perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, drilling and other operations.
  • Study and interpret drawings and blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, tools to be used, materials for the job and setup requirements.
  • Provide verification of dimensions of machined parts using precision measuring instruments.
  • Operate overhead crane and forklift to handle materials in a safe manner.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as required.
  • General housekeeping & adherence to all safety policies and procedures.

Experience & Education

  • Journeyman Machinist Certification and/or Red Seal Machinist Certificate.
  • Equivalent certification and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum five (5) years Machining experience in set up & operation of CNC Lathes & Mills.
  • Specific experience running Mazak & Hurco machines considered an asset.
  • Experience using Mastercam CAD/CAM.
  • Able to perform own setups, complete first off inspections and action program changes/modifications to achieve QC requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge of tooling, calibrated equipment, part loading and clamping.
  • Demonstrated ability to read & interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings & specifications.
  • Experience manufacturing small runs with tight tolerances from a range of materials.
  • Strong mathematical and numerical skill with proven ability in use of measuring/inspection equipment.
