The Junior Store Designer supports the planning, development, and execution of retail store design projects for both Laura and Melanie Lyne. This role assists in the development of preliminary design layouts during the design phase, prepares design documentation, creates 3D presentations and renderings, coordinates materials, and contributes to the development of innovative retail environments that reflect each brand's identity.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and passionate about retail design. They possess a collaborative mindset, strong design sensibility, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

How will you support the team?
  • Prepare shell CAD plans to establish base drawings for preliminary design development.
  • Assist in developing preliminary store layouts and design concepts based on sketches, design direction, and project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain CAD standards for both Laura and Melanie Lyne, including creating and managing CAD block libraries to improve consistency and efficiency across projects.
  • Revise and update CAD drawings following design reviews, markups, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Create preliminary 3D models using SketchUp and Enscape to support schematic design presentations and visualization.
  • Assist in preparing schematic design and Design Development (DD) packages for architects, consultants, landlords, and contractors.
  • Produce fixture, furniture, millwork, and retail display drawings under the direction of the Store Design team.
  • Coordinate material samples, finish selections, and supplier swatches to support design development and approvals.
  • Prepare presentation materials and visual documentation for design reviews, executive presentations, and special projects.
  • Assist with site surveys, field measurements, and documentation of existing site conditions.
  • Support the coordination of landlord design criteria and submission requirements for shopping centre approvals.
  • Maintain organized project documentation, drawing files, specifications, and design records.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Construction, Real Estate, Visual Merchandising, Procurement, and external consultants to support project execution.
  • Ensure all drawings and documentation are accurate, up-to-date, and completed within established project timelines.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, materials, and best practices in retail design.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architectural Technology, Interior Architecture, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in retail, commercial, or interior design, with experience creating technical drawings and design documentation
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with Enscape is considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of retail design principles, space planning, construction documentation, millwork, fixtures, finishes, and materials
  • Familiarity with shopping centre landlord submission requirements is considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to interpret sketches, markups, and design concepts into accurate technical drawings
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for fashion, retail design, and creating engaging customer experiences
