Barista/Customer Service Assistant

Responsibilities

• Open or close the café: set up your workstation, dial in espresso grind, and ensure the space is clean and ready for service
• Prepare house-made syrups and monitor ingredient stock levels
• Prepare espresso drinks, matcha beverages, and other specialty drinks consistently and efficiently
• Take customer orders, process transactions through the POS system, and handle payments accurately
• Serve baked goods while maintaining a welcoming and professional atmosphere
• Learn product details and ingredients to confidently assist customers with questions
• Assist with small operational tasks (e.g., stamping bags and cups, refilling display case)
• Greet customers warmly and provide excellent service throughout their visit
• Maintain cleanliness of the front-of-house area, including tables, counters, and service stations
• Communicate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders
• Address customer questions and resolve issues promptly to support a positive guest experience
• Use downtime productively by restocking, organizing, and supporting the team as needed

Qualifications

• Previous barista experience required; latte art skills preferred
• Food Handler certificate required
• Strong time management skills and ability to multitask
• Solid understanding of coffee preparation and espresso workflow
• Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations
• Excellent communication skills and friendly, professional demeanor
• Comfortable working in a small, collaborative team environment
• Ability to manage time independently and stay proactive during slower periods
• Advanced English language skills required

Hourly pay +tips

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.60 per hour
