Summary:
The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the Marpole Curling Facility and Vancouver Curling Club bar and lounge. This includes, but is not limited to, its business performance, administration (inventory, sales and profitability analysis, reports) as well as maintaining high standards of food, service, health, and safety.
A major priority of this role is to support your team of Lounge Servers, Assistant Bar Managers and the Kitchen & Catering Manager. You will provide supervision, constructive feedback and encourage the team to take initiatives and develop themselves professionally to better support the curling club.
This position is full time with benefits, wage is based on experience,
Primary Responsibilities:
- Actively involved in the management and day to day lounge operations: including cooking, bartending, dishwashing and bussing.
- Recruit, train and motivate lounge staff to create efficient and friendly service.
- Prepare weekly lounge server schedule for both Vancouver Curling Club and Marpole Curling Facility.
- Work with the Kitchen & Catering Manager to develop menus with consideration of seasonal changes and weekly specials.
- Supervise staff, provide regular constructive feedback, and encourage professional development to grow and improve the team.
- Manage weekly tip outs according to the Tip Pool Policy.
- Manage cash floats; prepare daily bar float reconciliation and cash ups effectively and accurately.
- Compare budgets and actuals the lounge – recommend course of action as required.
- Support Executive Director with annual budget preparation.
- Maintain lounge/food inventory, prepare purchase orders and coordinate delivery/pick-up.
- Verify invoices are received and approved.
- Organize marketing activities of food and beverage specials.
- Train and knowledge lead in the POS system.
- Oversight of contract development with food and beverage providers.
- Support the management team in ensuring the lounge meets requirements of its liquor license and liaise with appropriate LCLB employees as needed.

Pay: $27.00-$30.00 per hour

- member based club: 1 year (preferred)
- Food & Beverage Industry: 3 years (required)
- curling: 1 year (preferred)
