Position Summary

Cambrian College's Test Centre has an immediate need for two (2) Senior Test Proctors for 24 hours per week on a regular part-time basis.

Note: Internal candidates, as defined by the Part-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement, will be given first consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Proctor is responsible for administering, invigilating, securing, and monitoring testing for accommodated, non-accommodated and external test takers, and supporting test proctors in the invigilation of test. The Senior Proctor participates in the recruitment, training and monitoring of casual proctors and supports the general operation of the Test Centre providing daytime and occasional evening coverage. The Senior Test Proctor will also:


  • Administers and invigilates accommodated, non-accommodated, external tests in accordance with established requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Reviews test instructions and student accommodations to ensure each test is administered appropriately. Liaises with faculty and external testing organizations to obtain or confirm test materials, passwords, instructions, and other testing requirements.
  • Serves as the point of contact for the resolution of all accommodated and language proficiency testing concerns.
  • Provides guidance and support to casual proctors during the administration of tests. Assists the Test Centre Coordinator with the recruitment, orientation, training, and monitoring of casual proctors.
  • Responds to general inquiries and provides information and support to students, faculty, staff and external customers regarding test invigilation.
  • Supports accommodated testing services by providing guidance and training to faculty on test-booking procedures and the use of Clockwork, liaising with the Glenn Crombie Centre, and delivering information sessions or presentations to faculty, staff, and students.
  • Identifies and responds to testing issues, including technology concerns, missing or incomplete test materials, scheduling conflicts, accommodation concerns, and suspected academic misconduct, in accordance with established procedures.
  • Completes general administrative duties and maintains accurate, confidential records related to test bookings, testing incidents, accommodation requirements, and operational reports.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must have a minimum of a two-year diploma or degree. (A copy of educational documents must be submitted with application *** education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application)
  • Minimum of two-years of relevant work experience with a strong focus on scheduling and customer service.
  • Proficiency working with technology, including Microsoft Office Suite, and demonstrated ability to learn new technologies.
  • Ability to follow testing rules, guidelines and structure to ensure the integrity of the Test Centre
  • Excellent customer service skills, strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
Additional Assets/Preferred:
  • Experience working within a postsecondary environment.
  • Experience with test invigilation.
  • Experience working with persons with exceptionalities and various testing accommodations and/or knowledge of issues relevant to persons with disabilities.
  • Experience working with technologies such as Clockwork, Voice to Text software, Read and Write.
  • Knowledge of College policies and Privacy legislation
