Thomassie Mangiok Centre Director - Nuvviti School

FUNCTION & DUTIES:

Reporting to the Assistant Director General, the Assistant Director assists in the physical management and administrative operations of the schools. Main activities of the position include:

  • Participate in the planning and implementation of the Board Strategic action plan;
  • Hire, supervise and evaluate the Youth Sector Center Director;
  • Ensure adherence to policies, regulations, contractual obligations, and organizational procedures.;
  • Provide expertise to school administrators to promote the optimal management of the schools;
  • Support or participate in the recruitment process of school staff;
  • Verify that deliverables meet required standards of the Board;
  • Participate in meetings, and committees with partners and stakeholders.
  • Participate in the planning and preparation of the department annual budget;
  • Provide support to schools with their School Success Plan;
  • Assume any other responsibilities compatible with the function that may be assigned by the immediate superior.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in administration or in a relevant field.
  • Eight (8) years of relevant experience with at least five (5) years in a management position.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all the aforementioned qualification requirements if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fluency in two (2) of the three (3) official languages of Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (Inuktitut, English and French);
  • Must be prepared for frequent travels throughout Nunavik;
  • Excellent management and organizational skills in order to create an efficient work environment;
  • Initiative;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Word and Excel;
  • Speaking Inuktitut is an asset;
  • Knowledge of Nunavik and the Inuit culture is an asset.

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:

Class 10* as per the KI working conditions of managers: from $116 551 to $155 396 annually depending on qualifications and experience.
