Environmentally focused distribution company is seeking a hands-on Payroll & Implementation Specialist to support the implementation of a new HR and payroll system, BambooHR. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who can quickly step into the project, take ownership of payroll-related implementation activities, and work closely with the current Payroll Lead to ensure a smooth transition from planning through go-live.

The ideal candidate will have strong payroll expertise, practical BambooHR experience, and a solid understanding of both Canadian and U.S. payroll compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the end-to-end implementation of BambooHR, including requirements gathering, data validation and cleanup, and implementation planning.
  • Perform system, integration, and parallel payroll testing to ensure data accuracy and successful deployment.
  • Validate payroll and employee data to ensure accuracy before go-live.
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian and U.S. payroll legislation throughout the implementation process.
  • Build and validate HR and Finance reporting, including payroll accruals and time-off bank reporting.
  • Partner with upper management and the current Payroll Lead to streamline payroll processes and support a successful transition.
  • Identify and resolve implementation issues while maintaining project timelines.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Hands-on payroll experience with BambooHR.
  • Experience managing payroll processes independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of both Canadian and U.S. payroll compliance.
  • Background specifically in payroll and HR, with practical payroll administration experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced implementation environment.
