Verkhovets Law is an established law firm specializing in Plaintiff personal injury litigation. We are seeking an experienced Law Clerk/Legal Assistant with 2+ years of experience in personal injury to work on accident benefits and/or tort matters.

The successful candidate must be motivated and experienced in personal injury and be able to work as part of a team in a professional environment.

Education & Qualifications

  • College diploma in Law Clerk Program or Paralegal Program
  • Knowledge of the tort
  • Knowledge of accident benefits
  • Knowledge of the timelines under the Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Knowledge of the court forms as per the Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Excellent use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, prioritize and manage high volume of files

Job Duties

  • Requesting productions from various medical facilities, organizations etc.
  • Drafting and preparing correspondence to opposing counsel, insurance companies and clients.
  • Managing and satisfying undertakings.
  • Scheduling Case Conferences, Examinations for Discoveries, Mediations, client calls and settlement calls in a timely manner.
  • Drafting and submitting AODs, NOEs, OCF-1s, LAT Applications, Case Conference Summaries, etc.
  • Preparing Mediation Briefs, Pre-Trial Briefs, Document Briefs.
  • Corresponding with insurers and other law firms.
  • File management.

Skills and Specifications

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Confident and dependable, with strong initiative and ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented atmosphere
  • Exceptional administrative, organizational, analytical and time management skills
  • Excellent work ethics and a strong attention to detail
  • Advanced writing skills to prepare legal correspondence and complete form
  • Excellent oral and communication skills
