Warehouse Shipper/Receiver

Armstrong Milling has been offering high-quality wild bird seed products at competitive prices for over 40 years.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

1. Load full pallets of birdseed onto truck for transport

2. Pick, stretch-wrap and stage orders for loading as required

3. Clear the automatic stretch-wrapper of finished product and store in appropriate locations within the warehouse using the provided scanning software

4. Cut bags of old or damaged product into the rework flush bin

5. Complete all required paperwork including rework tracking, scanning, quality, and shipping

6. Notify quality department to approve of custom mix products

7. Report all food safety problems and/or quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate actions

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

1. Assist in unloading trucks of packaging ingredients or packaging

2. Assist other employees in moving objects that require a lift truck

3. Actively participate in areas of continuous improvement and offer solutions to problems as required

4. Ensure that all equipment is operating and any unsafe equipment or conditions are reported to the Workplace Health & Safety Committee or relevant authority

5. Be willing and able to work and be trained in other positions elsewhere in the operation whenever required

CONDITIONS:

1. Full time: Shiftwork: 40 hours per week, may be requested to work overtime

2. Full benefits after 90 day probation period

3. Position is physically demanding and requires long periods of driving a lift truck

4. May require work outside in inclement weather

5. Requires working in teams

6. Plant contains peanuts, wheat, and other allergens
