BestCoast Outfitters is a kayaking and watersports equipment store interested in fostering local communities and creating a positive culture on Vancouver Island for kayaking enthusiasts.

We are currently seeking a full-time, permanent Store Manager who can bring a professional, positive attitude to this position, and help us grow. Along with being responsible for the sale of our products, you will take the wheel in building, maintaining and operating the business.

An ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate the following abilities and qualities:

  • Able to communicate effectively and clearly with both customers and team members
  • Maintain a professional and friendly disposition in any situation that may arise
  • A demonstrated ability to work both independently and with direction
  • Excellent time management and organization
  • Flexibility to work events outside scheduled store hours

You will have some of the following skills and certifications:

  • Previous experience in kayaking and/or other watersports, and instructor certification is a huge asset
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service ability
  • Previous retail or sales experience is considered an asset
  • Experience with Shopify and Quickbooks is considered an asset

As a part of this position, the store manager will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Manage the store schedule
  • Manage store staff
  • Work with communications manager and assistant store manager to create monthly events and build the company’s online presence
  • Plan and admin training courses and tours
  • Maintain store inventory and organization
  • Maintain the store manual
  • Develop strategies for growth
  • Manage budgets and payments
  • Assist bookkeeper with entries in QuickBooks
  • Take payments from customers using Shopify Point of Sale
  • Assist customers with product inquiries or concerns
  • Maintain relationships with both existing and new customers
  • Conduct other events outside of store hours as required
  • Complete other duties as required by the store owner

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $3,000.00-$3,750.00 per month

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Weekends as needed
