About Us:
We are a tight-knit team of 4 looking to add another skilled and motivated crew member! Our renovation company takes on a wide range of projects—from quick fence repairs to full bathroom overhauls. No two days are the same, and creative problem-solving is a must. We pride ourselves on having a supportive work environment where everyone is valued. We are primarily located around Sidney and the Peninsula currently, but are looking to expand into Victoria and Langford within the next year.

Position Summary:
The Lead Carpenter (Or Renovation Team Lead) is responsible for overseeing small- to mid-sized residential renovation projects from start to finish. Common project types include carpentry, bathroom and kitchen renovations, drywall repairs, flooring, painting, and tiling. In addition to performing skilled trade work, with support from management, the Team Lead is expected to help manage other technicians, maintain strong communication with clients, and relay information and challenges to the Project Manager.

The ability to assess and provide quotes for small-scale jobs (typically 1–2 days in duration, and with support from our pricing program) is essential to have the knowledge for or willingness to learn, along with creating material lists, sourcing construction supplies, and ensuring timely, high-quality project completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with material handling, site setup, and cleanup.
  • Perform demolition and prep work.
  • Lead both smaller and larger project execution from start to finish.
  • Read and follow work orders, drawings, or job plans.
  • Perform advanced renovation tasks (multi-trade capability).
  • Ensure site safety, cleanliness, and client satisfaction.
  • Track and maintain company equipment and tools.
  • Mentor junior team members.
  • Develop accurate material/labor estimates.
  • Meet clients on-site for walkthroughs and quoting (1–2 day jobs); complete these jobs independently if approved.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of hands-on renovation experience (multi-trade capabilities).
  • Ability to quote, plan, and conduct 1–2 day projects independently.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Background check (required).
  • Valid driver’s license (required).
  • Driver’s abstract (required for company vehicle approval).
