Position Title: Operations & Logistics Coordinator

SUMMARY OF POSITION

This Logistics Coordinator is an integral part of the operations team and is primarily responsible for proactively directing and dispatching operators to client projects. This role will ensure equipment and operators are ready for mobilization to projects and ensure strong communication with operators on job timing and scheduling. This position will work collaboratively with the Project Supervisors to maintain the project schedule daily and ensure all client requirements are met.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage the project schedule and ensure all client requirements are met.
  • Ensure units are ready for project sites and orient operators to their assigned unit and project.
  • Effective execution of both operators and equipment to job sites.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Daily communication with operators on project start ups and scheduling to ensure flawless execution of operators and equipment to projects. This will include preparing dispatch sheets, departure meetings with operators, journey management to project location, communication with the on-site representatives, and ensuring operators arrive on site safely and have everything they need to execute the job perfectly.
  • Ensure operators have completed the training courses required for the assigned project/client.
  • Ability to communicate job status and other items to the Operations Manager while managing time effectively and independently.
  • Completion of the project schedule (operators and equipment) and distribution of a daily truck status report to the team.
  • Oversee equipment readiness across the organization including coordinating with the operations and maintenance teams to ensure equipment is job ready, the unit is properly inventoried, and procuring any parts and services that may be needed for the project.
  • Complete driver logbook audits.
  • Ensure clear communication to operators and supervisors.
  • Assist with onboarding new operators, including operations and safety orientations, manage training requirements, knowledge of proper and safe operation of equipment, expectations, and code of conduct.
  • Comply with processes, policies, and practices.
  • Champion our safety culture at Movac including communication of HSE related items to new and current employees.
  • Proven experience getting things done by improving existing processes while meeting established deadlines.
  • Improve the customer experience and control costs.
  • Maintain and participate in company training and professional development.
  • Complete job responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner and contribute in a positive, professional way to achieving Movac’s goal of providing high-quality service.
  • May assist in audits, inspections, and routine maintenance (both yard and shop).
  • Conduct all job responsibilities in accordance with the Movac HSE standards, guidelines, and rules.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with dispatching operators and equipment in the Oil & Gas Industry is required with a proven track record leading and mentoring employees and managing operations and costs at an operational level.
  • Completion of post-secondary education is considered an asset.
  • Process driven individual, who excels at executing tasks from conception through to completion.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Safety certification and training if not completed will be required.
  • Travel to site will be minimal however, you may be required to visit projects for learning and observation.
