Location: Brunner, Ontario
Full-time | Permanent | On-site
Perth Environmental is looking for a Mechanic Apprentice to join our team at our Brunner, Ontario facility.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who wants to build a career working on trucks, trailers, tankers, pumps, and heavy equipment. You will work alongside experienced mechanics and operations staff while learning how to maintain and repair the equipment used in a busy environmental services operation.

Perth Environmental is an environmental services company focused on the responsible handling and processing of wastewater, sludge, and food-grade oils at a dedicated receiving yard and processing facility serving municipal and industrial customers.
Position Overview
The Mechanic Apprentice will assist with repairs, inspections, preventative maintenance, parts organization, shop clean-up, and general mechanical support. This role is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, reliable, and eager to learn in a real shop and yard environment.
Prior experience is helpful, but not required. A strong attitude, good work ethic, and willingness to learn are most important.
Responsibilities
- Assist mechanics with repairs and maintenance on trucks, trailers, tankers, and yard equipment
- Help with preventative maintenance and inspections
- Learn basic diesel, trailer, hydraulic, electrical, brake, air system, and pump repairs
- Clean and organize tools, parts, shop areas, and workspaces
- Assist with tire checks, fluid checks, greasing, basic servicing, and equipment preparation
- Help move tools, parts, and equipment safely around the shop and yard
- Support mechanics during equipment breakdowns and repairs
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Maintain a positive attitude and willingness to learn
Qualifications
- Mechanically inclined and interested in learning the trade
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to work
- Comfortable working with tools and around trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
- Willing to purchase own basic tools
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely
- Valid driver’s licence preferred
- Previous shop, farm, trucking, equipment, or mechanical experience is an asset, but not required
- Enrolled in or interested in pursuing a mechanic apprenticeship is an asset
- Strong work ethic and willingness to take on different tasks as needed
