We are a women led business that believes every detail matters.We are now looking for a Manager to lead our café, nurture our team, and bring Lavinia’s vision to life every day.

This is a leadership role for someone who combines hospitality, precision, and care. Someone who can build systems, lead with heart, and make excellence feel natural.

The Role

As Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operations and long term success of Lavinia Bakery & Café.

You will lead the front of house team, collaborate closely with the kitchen, and ensure that every guest experience reflects the essence of Lavinia: warm, genuine, and full of care.

Beyond daily operations, you will also oversee key business metrics, helping us balance creativity and financial performance as the café grows.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves both the art and the structure of hospitality.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee all café operations and ensure seamless coordination between front and back of house
• Build, train, and inspire a motivated team rooted in kindness, collaboration, and accountability
• Manage sales, labour, and cost of goods to meet business and operational goals
• Review performance reports and make thoughtful, data informed decisions
• Create weekly schedules aligned with forecasts and guest flow
• Handle supplier relationships, orders, and inventory control
• Maintain operational checklists and ensure health, safety, and cleanliness standards are upheld
• Support community events, partnerships, and seasonal initiatives
• Lead by example on the floor, setting the tone for service and team culture

About You

• You have experience managing specialty coffee shops, bakeries, or design driven cafés.
• You care deeply about people and about creating spaces that feel intentional, beautiful, and alive.
• You understand that true hospitality lives in the details. The way a team works together, the calm in a busy moment, the care in every cup and interaction.
• You are analytical yet intuitive, balancing operational efficiency with human connection.

Experience and Skills

• 3+ years of experience managing a café or restaurant, ideally in specialty coffee
• Proven ability to manage KPIs including labour cost, COGS, and sales performance
• Strong leadership and coaching skills, with experience building cohesive teams
• Understanding of café financials and operational reporting
• Experience with POS and scheduling systems (Square, Lightspeed, 7shifts, or similar)
• Knowledge of La Marzocco espresso machines and specialty coffee standards
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem solving abilities
• Availability to work weekends and mornings
