We are seeking a skilled Curriculum Designer to join our team. The role is responsible for curriculum architecture, learning system design, and standards-aligned program development across AMHSA learning products.

The position serves as a design authority for learning objectives, assessment strategy, modality decisions (in-person, virtual instructor-led, and elearning), and alignment with regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards. While the role includes instructional design and LMS responsibilities, it’s primary focus in program-level curriculum design, governance and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience designing learning for regulated, compliance driven environments, demonstrates systems-level thinking, and can translate subject matter expertise into structure, defensible curriculum frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Curriculum Architecture & Learning Strategy

· Design end-to-end training programs, including program structure, sequencing, and learning pathways across delivery modalities.

· Develop program-level learning objectives, enabling objectives, and assessment strategies aligned to adult learning principles.

· Create and maintain curriculum maps demonstrating alignment between program goals, objectives, instructional strategies, and assessments.

2. Standards, Regulatory, and Accreditation Alignment

· Interpret legislation, codes, industry standards, and accreditation requirements (e.g., OHS, IACET) and translate them into curriculum design specifications.

· Ensure learning products are compliant, defensible, audit-ready, and suitable for external review.

· Support continuous alignment of learning programs with evolving regulatory and industry expectations.

3. Design Governance & Quality Assurance

· Act as a design authority by reviewing, validating, and approving learning designs prior to development or delivery.

· Ensure consistency, instructional integrity, and quality across AMHSA learning products.

· Support evaluation and continuous improvement through review of learner feedback, performance data, and course evaluations.

4. Subject Matter Expert (SME) Collaboration

· Work with SMEs to elicit, structure, and normalize content into organized curriculum frameworks.

· Manage scope, resolve ambiguity, and ensure SME input aligns with learning outcomes and standards requirements.

· Translate technical or regulatory information into learner-appropriate curriculum designs.

5. Instructional Design & Development (Supporting)

· Apply instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to develop instructional materials in support of approved curriculum designs.

· Create design documents, storyboards, performance-based tasks, and learning resources as required.

· Leverage eLearning tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate) to develop and update learning materials.

6. LMS Support & Utilization (Supporting)

· Support the organization, publishing, and maintenance of learning materials within the LMS.

· Generate and interpret LMS reports to assess learner engagement and training effectiveness.

· Collaborate with LMS administrators to ensure system functionality supports learning and reporting needs.

7. Collaboration & Advisory Support

· Work with internal teams and external partners to align learning initiatives with organizational objectives.

· Provide consultative guidance on learning design, standards alignment, and best practices.

· Support communication and change management related to course updates, standards implementation, and learning initiatives.

Qualifications

Education

· Post-secondary diploma, certificate, or degree in Education, Curriculum Design, Instructional Design, or a related field.

· Equivalent experience designing regulated, standards-based, or accredited training programs will be considered.

Experience

· 5+ years of experience in curriculum design, instructional design, or learning systems development.

· Demonstrated experience designing learning for compliance-driven or high-risk environments (e.g., OHS, safety, regulated professions).

· Experience developing learning objectives, assessments, and curriculum maps.

· Experience collaborating with SMEs and providing consultative learning design support.
