Lead Carpenter

,Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and construction, demonstrating leadership abilities while overseeing projects from start to finish. This role requires a hands-on approach, as well as the ability to manage a team effectively, ensuring that all work meets quality standards and is completed on time.

Duties

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of carpenters and other construction workers on-site.
• Perform various carpentry tasks including framing, roofing, flooring installation, and siding.
• Execute tile laying and caulking duties with precision.
• Ensure all work is plumb, level, and square according to project specifications.
• Conduct construction estimating to assess project needs and materials required.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols.
• Train and mentor junior carpenters and apprentices in best practices and techniques.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely completion of projects within budget constraints.

Requirements

• 10+ years experience in carpentry
• Abilty to build bathrooms, kitchens, and basements independently with no supervision
• Proven experience as a carpenter with extensive knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods.
• Extensive understanding of Toronto houses and being able to open up walls with precision
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for various tasks.
• Familiarity with tile laying, flooring installation, roofing, caulking, siding, and other maintenance person skills.
• Strong understanding of construction estimating processes.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
• Good physical condition with the stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods.

Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
