POSITION: Indigenous Cultural Support Worker
WHAT YOU NEED (QUALIFICATIONS):
· Maintain and utilize a current Standard First Aid and CPR level C
· Provide clear criminal record and child intervention checks.
· Minimum of three (3) years related experience.
· Strong knowledge and experience of Indigenous culture and ways of knowing.
· Understanding of colonization, intergenerational trauma, and systemic factors.
· External connection to Indigenous community in Calgary and surrounding areas.
· Experience working with individuals with disabilities is an asset.
· Maintains a Class 5 Driver’s License with a minimum of 3 years driving history in Canada.
· Completed educational Requirements from an agency- approved Human services or Social Services institution

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING? (JOB DUTIES):
· Provides leadership, mentorship, and support for individuals and staff to incorporate Indigenous knowledge.
· Supports culturally relevant experiences for any URSA residents.
· Develop and maintain connection to a variety of external resources to benefit individuals and families.
· Suggests actions to enhance Indigenous practices across URSA work areas.
· Embeds traditional knowledge in daily practice.
· Set up a monthly calendar of events/ activities to be shared with all URSA sites.
· Represents the agency at external events and maintains familiarity with community resources
· Set up and facilitate monthly training and as needed for staff.
· Plan, organize and lead 2 cultural activities weekly.
· Seeks opportunities to build knowledge about different cultural groups to better support parents and guardians
· Is inclusive when working on projects and communicating with co-workers and individuals.
