Perth Environmental is looking for a General Helper to join our team at our Brunner, Ontario facility.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is practical, mechanically inclined, reliable, and willing to jump in wherever needed. You do not need a trade ticket for this position. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a good attitude, and the ability to help in the shop, yard, and tanker operation.

Perth Environmental is an environmental services company focused on the responsible handling and processing of wastewater, sludge, and food-grade oils at a dedicated receiving yard and processing facility serving municipal and industrial customers.

Position Overview

The General Helper will support our mechanics, drivers, and operations team with day-to-day work around the shop and yard. This may include helping with tools and parts, assisting around tankers, cleaning and organizing work areas, supporting basic maintenance tasks, and helping keep the operation moving.

This is a good opportunity for someone who enjoys physical work, likes being around equipment, and wants to be part of a busy environmental services operation.

Responsibilities

• Assist mechanics with tools, parts, equipment, and basic shop tasks
• Wash trucks and trailers
• Help around tankers, trailers, trucks, pumps, hoses, and yard equipment
• Clean and organize the shop, yard, tools, parts, and work areas
• Support basic maintenance and repair work under supervision
• Assist with moving materials, equipment, and supplies around the yard
• Help prepare equipment for daily operations
• Perform general labour duties as needed
• Follow safety procedures and work carefully around trucks and tankers
• Support drivers and operations staff when required
• Take direction from the shop and operations team

Qualifications

• No trade ticket required
• Mechanically inclined or technically minded
• Comfortable working with tools and equipment
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to work
• Able to perform physical work in a shop and yard environment
• Willing to learn and take on different tasks
• Valid driver’s licence preferred
• Previous experience in a shop, yard, farm, trucking, construction, equipment, or industrial environment is an asset
• Safety-minded and able to follow instructions

Schedule

• Monday to Friday
• Occasional overtime may be available depending on operational needs
