Fleet Mechanic

Cedar Springs Landscape Group is seeking a skilled and dedicated Lead Mechanic to join our team at our Dundas yard. As a premier landscape design, construction, and maintenance company, we maintain a diverse fleet of trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment to deliver award-winning projects across Southern Ontario.

The ideal candidate will lead maintenance efforts, ensure equipment reliability, and contribute to a safe, efficient operation for the team. Working with others in the shop on a daily basis with seasonal demands makes this a tough but rewarding career.

Key Qualifications and Skills

The successful candidate will have:

• A valid Mechanic License (e.g., 310T Truck and Coach Technician or 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician preferred)
• Proven ability to work in a clean and organized manner
• Extensive experience in:
• Diesel engines
• Two-stroke engines
• Heavy equipment maintenance and repair
• Electrical diagnosis and repair
• Proficiency with software for tracking, documentation, and work orders

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on our fleet, including light/heavy trucks, trailers, skid steers, loaders, excavators, and small engines
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
• Lead and mentor junior mechanics or shop staff as needed
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts, and inspections using digital tracking systems
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and MTO regulations
• Keep the shop clean, organized, and efficient
