About the Opportunity:

As a Construction Site Operations Assistant at Homestar Group, this role is designed for individuals with hands-on construction experience and a strong understanding of job site operations. The position involves supporting and managing active construction sites while continuing to develop advanced skills in project coordination and site leadership.

The successful candidate will have experience working directly in the field, including the use of power tools, job site supervision, and hands-on training of crew members. Experience with heavy equipment operation and coordination of site activities is also highly valued.

You will work closely with a Project Manager, gaining practical experience in managing day-to-day site operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This role also provides exposure to multiple trades, including carpentry, landscaping, renovations, and other trades, with opportunities to further develop leadership and technical skills.

Position: Full-Time, Permanent

What You’ll Do:

  • Establish and maintain open communication with clients, management, and employees by building and improving relationships.
  • Listen to clients to ensure clear expectations and requirements, addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly.
  • Schedule employees to job sites, prioritizing projects and tasks based on urgency.
  • Lead the team by example to achieve desired results.
  • Understand building codes, project drawings, contracts, and specifications in detail.
  • Balance exceptional customer service with company goals in daily activities.
  • Ensure on-time completion of projects and work orders.
  • Maximize profitability through efficiency, cost control, and identifying opportunities.
  • Be solution-oriented in all aspects of the role.
  • Organize and schedule appointments effectively.
  • Assist in the preparation of estimates.
  • Perform administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, and scanning.
  • Communicate regularly with Project Managers about current workflow and scheduling.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Understanding and hands-on experience in related trades is essential.
  • Previous experience using power toolst is required.
  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment is an asset.
  • Previous experience managing construction projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience managing teams.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks and work in various weather conditions if required.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Reliable and punctual.
