Conservation Day Camp Leader

Full Time (Term Position) – Canada Summer Jobs

May 18 to August 28, 2026

Job Overview:

Here at the Alberta Wildlife Federation, we are Alberta’s leaders in conservation, promoting responsible stewardship through our provincial network of clubs and members. We are hiring energetic and enthusiastic conservation program leaders to deliver programs, including our summer day camps.

Job Description:

• Plan and deliver programs, including summer day camps
• Monitor and supervise program participants
• Conduct equipment inspection, review, and inventories
• Provide event support
• Sign children in and out of camp with authorized individuals
• Conduct daily safety assessments of work locations
• Provide first aid treatment to participants as needed
• Prepare reports as required
• Promote the Alberta Wildlife Federation, its programs, and products at meetings and events
• Contribute to publications (magazines, newsletters, annual reports, etc.)
• Follow and adhere to safe work practices, policies, and procedures
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned

• Experience using Microsoft 365
• Creative and collaborative mindset
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications:

• Between 18–30 years old
• Meets eligibility requirements for the Canada Summer Jobs program
• Valid Standard First Aid with CPR and AED
• Experience delivering programs to children is an asset
• Post-secondary education in physical activity, biology, science, education, or a related field
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license
• Must provide a clear vulnerable sector police information check
