Highmark Power Inc. is a growing electrical contractor and clean energy solutions provider, specializing in turnkey electrical infrastructure projects across commercial, industrial, and residential sectors.
While our focus is on renewable energy and electrical solutions, we also self-perform the civil construction work that supports these projects—including site preparation, excavation, concrete work, landscaping, and site remediation.

The Role
We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Civil Construction laborer to join our team. This role involves site preparation, excavation, concrete work, and site remediation (landscaping, cleanup, and restoration) for renewable energy and electrical infrastructure projects across Atlantic Canada.
Responsibilities:
- Set up forms, tie rebar, and pour and finish concrete pads (ranging from 1 - 10 yards).
- Perform landscaping, grading, backfilling, retaining wall installation, and site restoration after construction.
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications to ensure work is completed to project requirements.
Who We’re Looking For
Must-Have Skills & Qualifications:
- Canadian citizen or legally authorized to work in Canada
- Currently residing in Nova Scotia or planning to relocate in the near future
- Experience in civil construction, site preparation, or remediation
- Ability to operate excavation and grading equipment
- Hands-on experience with formwork, rebar installation, and concrete finishing
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read construction drawings and layout specifications
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Strong work ethic, honesty, and trustworthiness
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing
- Clean driver’s abstract (required for equipment mobilization)
- Willingness to undergo a criminal background check (for certain projects)
Nice-to-Have (but not required):
- Experience in heavy equipment hauling and mobilization
- Class 3 license, Air Brakes Endorsement, Endorsement 15 (Heavy Trailers), or Class 1 license
- Concrete formwork
- Rebar experience
- Carpentry skills
- Background in landscaping, grading, drainage, or erosion control
- Experience with renewable energy or electrical infrastructure projects

Other Details
- Work Hours: Typically 7 AM - 5 PM, 4/10's Monday - Thursday (may vary based on project needs and holidays)
- Travel: Some travel within Atlantic Canada required
