Full job description

Certified Athletic Therapist to work at the Speed Training Lab + High Performance Centre® and offsite with a professional soccer club, competing in the Canadian Premier League.

Work in the Speed Training Lab + High Performance Centre®

  • Provide Athletic Therapy Assessments and Treatments of clients.
  • Complete clinical notes.
  • Assist with basic Clinical tasks including communication with clients, appointment scheduling, and record-keeping.
  • Development of at-home rehabilitation programs for Speed Training Members.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workspace within the clinical / treatment rooms, and exercise areas inside the Speed Training Lab + High Performance Centre.

Work Offsite with Professional Soccer Club

League Requirements

  • Responsible for any Canadian Premier League medical requirements.
  • Direct contact with Team Doctor to coordinate all medical details during competitive season.

Training Session

  • Conducting pre-training assessments and treatments to ensure players are in optimal condition.
  • Conducting post-training assessments and treatments to ensure players are in optimal condition.
  • Conducting treatment for players who are injured.
  • Providing taping, bracing, or other supportive measures as needed.
  • Active awareness of on-going exercises during sessions.

Game Day

  • Being present on the sidelines to assess and respond to injuries promptly.
  • Administering immediate care and making decisions regarding player safety and fitness to continue playing.
  • Prepping Waters/ Gatorade and, if necessary, towels to cool down players.

Post-Game

  • Conducting post-game assessments and treatments for any injuries sustained during the match.
  • Begin rehabilitation protocols if necessary.

Away Games (Travel)

  • Secured material necessary for player treatment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Candidate must be a Certified Athletic Therapist (CAT (C)) with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA).
  • Candidate must hold a valid Canadian Red Cross BLS or CATA equivalent certificate.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 10 months
