Yurek Specialties Limited is a state-of-the-art processing facility in London, ON, which features the latest equipment to support the processing, production, and delivery of medical supplies and infusion equipment, along with related supplies, to the entirety of the Ontario Health at Home South West region.
We currently have an opening for an organized and team-focused Buyer who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Job Summary:
The Buyer serves as tactical operational procurement and will ensure timely availability of goods and services. This includes but is not limited to supporting in the coordination of purchases, placing orders, expediting orders, reporting, resolving backorders by working with vendors on substitutions, and resolving invoice discrepancies.
This role will have a responsibility in managing Vendor and Contractual Relationships on behalf of Yurek Specialties.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage a portfolio of suppliers for daily, weekly, and monthly replenishment.
- Responsible for day-to-day requisitioning, product sourcing, and contract management.
- Order Management – including placing and expediting orders, and resolving order invoice discrepancies
- Support Materials Manager with Request for Proposals and project work
- Co-ordinate consumables and MRO weekly ordering company wide
- Resolve vendor delivery and quality issues
- Identify and execute on cost takeout opportunities for inventory (both pricing and slow-moving)
- Manage ERP system to ensure timely communication to Buyers, Partners and end users on Supply Chain impacts and backorders
- Participate in inventory activities, including cycle counts and annual inventory
- Produce and review reports and KPIs regularly (supplier performance – quality, delivery, cost)
- Continuously identify, lead, and implement projects and initiatives to improve the overall department performance through leveraging Lean Six Sigma, Technology, and other best practices
- Maintain standards of health and safety and security
Education, Skills and Job Requirements:
- 3+ years of progressive purchasing experience in a high-volume setting
- Proficient in Excel
- Must have experience working in an ERP System
- Must have strong communication, negotiation, conflict management, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, organization, and execution skills
- Proven ability to implement process improvement and cost takeout initiatives.
