Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) /Clinical Supervisor – Edmonton and Greater Area

Hours of Work: Mondays - Fridays 4 evenings/week (until 7PM )

Responsibilities:

  • BCBA Supervision of BACB verified course sequence master's students (3-5 students pending caseload)
  • Oversight of personal caseload (adjusted to supervision requirements listed above)
  • Develop, monitor, and supervise an individual support plan, skill acquisition, and behaviour support plan for each individual, breaking down larger goals into phases of acquisition and create interventions for reduction in challenging behavior
  • Follow FSCD guidelines for documentation, submitting according to schedule for each respective client
  • Collaborate with individual, family, support system and an interdisciplinary team to create person-centered support plans
  • Conduct functional behaviour assessments and functional analyses as appropriate
  • Facilitate team meetings with the clinic director and work collaboratively with caregivers and other professionals
  • Supervise and mentor stakeholder staff involved in child’s care (Interventionists)
  • Setup data collection systems, graph and analyze data for the purposes of decision making and funder requirements
  • Model professional & compassionate care
  • Coach external stakeholders (parents, respite providers etc.) to provide excellent care in line with the Behaviour Intervention Plan
  • Deliver ongoing training and feedback to front-line staff and Behaviour Consultants regularly
  • Uphold Northern Star Behaviour Services Ltd. Policies and Procedures
  • Attend training sessions, workshops, online courses, etc.
  • Meet billable hour targets per month (adjusted in-line with supervision of student caseload ) according to FSCD contracts assigned
  • Maintain designation and stay current on best-practice and ethics
  • Current proof of First Aid & CPR Training
  • Criminal record and vulnerable sector checks

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Passion for seeing clients and students reach their potential
  • Experience working within FSCD documents, maintaining submission schedules, and leading case conferences considered an asset
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
  • Positive attitude, organized, and passion for learning
  • Experience working with an interdisciplinary team
  • Possess a strong knowledge in the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis, the fundamental elements of behaviour change, and ethical professional practice with children and teens
  • Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis or related field * Credentialed as a BCBA®
  • Applicant certified as a BCBA in good standing for 5+ years (equivalency with strong mentorship or education background to be considered on a case-by-case basis)
  • Publications considered an asset
  • Experience with research in a clinic based setting considered an asset
  • Experience with using assessment tools (VBMAPP, PEAK, ABLLS, Vineland etc.)
  • Experience with conducting functional analyses and functional behaviour assessments
  • Have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Current Clear Vulnerable Security Sector Police Check
  • Have access to a laptop, and quality internet to support virtual visits (e.g., Teams)
