Our work is rooted in teamwork, attention to detail, accountability, humble expertise, and skilled creativity. We are passionate about delivering thoughtful residential design while continuously improving the technical quality and efficiency of our projects.

We’re now looking to add an experienced Architectural Technologist to fill the role of Technologist Specialist to our growing team.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Technologist Specialist, you will play a key role in developing high-quality construction drawings, detailed design drawings and technical documentation that supports successful residential projects from concept through construction. You’ll work closely with our internal team members to ensure projects are accurate, coordinated, practical, and aligned with company standards.

- Advanced Design & Construction Documentation

  • Produce high-quality, accurate design and construction drawings aligned with company standards, project requirements, and design intent
  • Coordinate closely with internal team members to translate concepts into detailed, buildable drawings
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and organization to support efficient project delivery

- Advanced Software Proficiency

  • Utilize advanced Revit and AutoCAD skills to produce accurate and efficient project documentation
  • Support the team through strong technical software knowledge and best practices
  • Continuously improve drafting efficiency and technical workflows through software proficiency

- Structural & Construction Knowledge

  • Apply working knowledge of residential structural systems to ensure drawings are practical and buildable
  • Coordinate structural elements with architectural design to avoid conflicts and improve project accuracy
  • Recognize potential structural issues and coordinate with engineers or consultants when required

- Regulatory & Technical Coordination

  • Research local bylaws and building codes relevant to project requirements
  • Document applicable regulations and code considerations within project files

- Site Measures & As-Built Detailing

  • Lead site measurement and as-built documentation processes
  • Capture and document existing conditions accurately to support design and drafting
  • Organize site information in a clear and usable format for project teams
  • Identify potential site constraints or discrepancies early to support project success

What we’re looking for:

We are looking for someone who is technically strong, highly organized, collaborative, and confident working within a fast-paced residential design environment.

You are someone who:

  • Has intermediate to senior-level experience in residential drafting, construction documentation, or architectural technology (3+ years)
  • Has strong Revit and AutoCAD experience
  • Understands residential construction methods and structural coordination
  • Can independently manage technical project responsibilities with accuracy and efficiency
  • Has strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Works well with both design-focused and technical-focused team members
  • Communicates professionally and collaborates effectively across departments
  • Is adaptable, accountable, and detail-oriented

We value strong communication, responsiveness, and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative environment regardless of location. We’re open to remote candidates, or hybrid arrangements if you’re the right person for our team!

Why join Robinson Residential Design?

At Robinson Residential Design, you’ll join a collaborative and experienced team that values technical excellence, practical problem-solving, and continuous improvement. We offer:

  • Exposure to a wide variety of residential project types
  • The opportunity to contribute to both technical and design project development
  • A supportive, team-oriented environment with experienced mentors and collaborators
  • A culture that values growth, humility, accountability, and long-term development
  • A workplace where your technical expertise and ideas are valued

We are looking for someone interested in growing with our team long term and contributing meaningfully to the continued evolution of our technical standards and project delivery.
