Building a Great Team of Great People providing a Great Customer Experience

At Robinson Residential Design, we specialize in high-quality, full-service residential design. We’re locally owned and operated, with over 40 years of experience designing homes and residential projects across Saskatchewan.

Our work is rooted in teamwork, attention to detail, accountability, humble expertise, and skilled creativity. We are passionate about delivering thoughtful residential design while continuously improving the technical quality and efficiency of our projects.

We’re now looking to add an Architectural Technologist focused on Construction Drawing development to our growing team.

We are open to candidates of all experience levels for this role. What matters most is finding someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, willing to learn, and aligned with our team values. Experience is an asset, but attitude, work ethic, and technical aptitude are just as important.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Construction Drawing Technologist, you will contribute to the development of high-quality construction drawings and technical documentation for residential projects from concept through construction. You will work closely with our internal team members to ensure projects are accurate, coordinated, practical, and aligned with company standards.

- Consultative Communication

  • Communicate ideas, recommendations, and technical information clearly to support informed decision-making
  • Coordinate with consultants, suppliers, and internal team members throughout project development
  • Collaborate within the office to provide input, technical guidance, recommendations, and support on projects
  • Clearly communicate timelines, scope, expectations, and project-related updates

- Construction Drawings

  • Produce complete construction drawing sets aligned with company standards and project requirements
  • Review and check construction drawings completed by other team members for accuracy and consistency
  • Apply understanding of building systems, assemblies, and specifications within project documentation
  • Coordinate builder, client, consultant, and office standard specifications into cohesive drawing sets
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and organization throughout the drafting and review process

- Building Code & Regulatory Compliance

  • Maintain general working knowledge of Part 9 residential building code and Saskatchewan Regulations
  • Research, interpret & apply requirements accurately for all projects

- Structural Design

  • Identify & solve structural requirements within projects to support accurate and buildable drawings
  • Coordinate structural requirements and collaborate with consulting engineers

What we’re looking for:

We are looking for someone who is a strong fit for our team - technically capable, detail-oriented, and reliable, with a willingness to learn and grow. You are someone who:

  • Has experience in AutoCAD (required)
  • Has residential construction drawing or similar experience (1-3 years+)
  • Is detail-oriented, organized, and consistent in their work
  • Takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work
  • Communicates clearly and works well within a team environment
  • Is adaptable, accountable, and detail-oriented

We value strong communication, responsiveness, and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative environment regardless of location. We’re open to remote candidates, or hybrid arrangements if you’re the right person for our team!

Why join Robinson Residential Design?

At Robinson Residential Design, you’ll join a collaborative and experienced team that values technical excellence, practical problem-solving, and continuous improvement.

We offer:

  • Exposure to a wide variety of residential project types
  • A supportive, team-oriented environment with experienced mentors and collaborators
  • A culture that values growth, humility, accountability, and long-term development
  • A workplace where reliability and attention to detail are highly valued

We are open to candidates at different stages of their career and are focused on finding the right person who will contribute positively to the team and grow with us over time.
