Technologist/Designer/Project Coordinator
3+ years
Viridis Design Studio Ltd. is a landscape architectural design firm based in Moncton, New Brunswick. Our projects range from site specific design solutions to master planning exercises to detailed design construction projects and everything in between. Minimum capabilities and credentials:
- 3+ years experience working in an associated professional environment.
- Completed a technical diploma program or degree program in a relevant discipline (Canadian accredited or validated equivalent).
- Registered, or eligibility to be registered, with professional organization.
- Experience preparing detailed design for construction, experience on construction sites, contract administration.
- Proficient in AutoCAD. Additional program knowledge an asset (i.e. Civil 3D, Sketchup, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, Word, excel, Lumion).
- Time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects toward deadlines.
- Have a valid Driver’s License .
- Self motivated and up for a challenge.
- Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, writing) in English. French is an asset.
- Additional Assets:
o Familiar with current codes (NBC, Barrier Free/Accessibility).
o Familiar with National Master Specifications.
o Familiar with LEED and Green Globe project requirements.
o Experience interpreting Municipal Zoning and Bylaw documents.
o WAWA permit application process.
o Experience with Lumion or rendering software.
o Willing to obtain additional training and certification(s) if required.
Role Expectations
- Prepare technical construction documents (drawings, details, specifications).
- Visit and record site analysis, site reviews during construction and warranty reviews upon completion.
- Field/site investigation including documenting exiting conditions, collect site analysis, take measurements, and general data collection.
- Participate in client and design team coordination meetings virtually and in-person.
- Develop and prepare presentation graphics such as renderings, 3D models, plans, images, etc.
- Prepare cost estimates.
- Research products and materials.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in and out of the office.
