Join our team as a Senior Bookkeeping Professional at Saskatoon Auto Connection!

We are looking for an exceptional bookkeeping professional with extensive experience and a deep understanding of accounting processes. This role is ideal for someone who is highly skilled in full-cycle bookkeeping and thrives in an environment where accuracy, organization, and financial insight are valued.

This position is responsible for managing the dealership’s day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, maintaining strong financial controls, and supporting leadership with reliable financial information. The ideal candidate brings outstanding bookkeeping expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex financial processes with confidence. Experience in retail or automotive dealership accounting is an asset.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in full-cycle bookkeeping and financial record management.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS), taxation, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks / dealer accounting systems).
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational ability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments.
  • Automotive dealership experience is an asset but not required.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

General Accounting & Reporting

  • Manage full-cycle accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and monthly close processes.
  • Prepare accurate financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and internal management reports.
  • Ensure timely and accurate posting of all dealership transactions and deal reporting.

Cash & Banking Operations

  • Manage daily cash reconciliation, bank deposits, and cash flow reporting.
  • Maintain proper controls over cash handling and reconciliations.

Compliance & Controls

  • Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard dealership assets.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Canadian tax regulations (GST/HST, payroll remittances, corporate tax, etc.) and automotive industry standards.
  • Coordinate with external accountants and support year-end processes.

Budgeting & Financial Analysis

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning.
  • Provide insights, trends, and recommendations to support operational and strategic decisions.

Dealership Processes & Systems

  • Support accounting system maintenance, enhancements, and best practices.
  • Ensure accurate integration between sales, finance, and accounting systems.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with leadership and department managers (Sales, F&I, Service) to support the overall financial health of the dealership.

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements.
  • Proactively resolve financial discrepancies and issues.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
