This role combines design creativity with technical drafting expertise, supporting projects from concept through construction. You will collaborate closely with project managers, consultants, and site teams to deliver functional and visually compelling interior spaces.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Prepare detailed drawings for building permit, tender, and construction using AutoCAD (including floor plans, elevations, section and construction details)
• Ensure all drawings comply with applicable building codes, regulation and industry standards
• Coordinate and manage project documentation, including submittals, shop drawings and purchase/change orders
• Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, contractors and city officials throughout all project phases
• Develop interior design concepts based on client requirements, budget and project scope
• Translate design ideas into accurate drafting packages
• Prepare presentation materials including renderings, mood boards, and client packages
• Select finishes, materials, fixtures, and furnishings aligned with project vision and budget
• Review shop drawings and submittals for accuracy and compliance
• Conduct site visits to verify design implementation and resolve issues
• Maintain organized project documentation and update drawing sets as required
• Outline specifications and complete tender packages for trade tendering
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with a team

Qualifications and Skills:

• Completion of a post-secondary diploma in architectural design and drafting, building technology, or related field
• Minimum 3-5 years experience in drafting/AutoCAD
• Experience in office and commercial tenant improvements projects is preferred.
• Familiarity with the BC Building Code and Municipal Zoning Bylaws
• Strong organizational skills and attention-to-detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
• Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently
• Good team player, self-motivated and willing to learn
• Excellent phone and email etiquette and ability to write clear and concise business communications
• Ability to work proactively both independently and in a team environment
• Valid BC Drivers License
• Strong communication skills
• Close attention to detail
• Problem solving skills

Compensation (salary): $56,000 to $75,000

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $56,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
