  • Troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, HVAC and general building maintenance issues.
  • Coordinate contractors, service providers and capital improvement projects.
  • Source pricing, obtain quotations and manage maintenance inventories and purchasing.
  • Monitor departmental expenses and assist with budget management.
  • Maintain maintenance records, equipment documentation and warranty information.
  • Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC requirements, fire safety regulations and hotel safety standards.
  • Work closely with Housekeeping, Front Office and other departments to resolve guest concerns efficiently.
  • Identify opportunities to improve building performance, efficiency and preventative maintenance practices.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation as required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum five years’ experience in hotel, commercial or building maintenance.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and general building systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing contractors and outside vendors.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Valid BC Driver’s Licence.
  • The ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and emergency call-outs when required.

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular standing, walking, climbing ladders, lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs., and performing physical maintenance work throughout the property.

Why Join Executive?

  • Competitive salary
  • Extended health and dental benefits
  • Employee hotel discounts
  • Supportive and collaborative team environment
  • Opportunities for career growth within Executive Hotels & Resorts
  • Work in one of Canada’s premier resort destinations
