Discover the true meaning of warm Canadian hospitality in one of the top family-friendly hotels in Canmore. Canmore Inn & Suites is centrally located in Canmore, a great base to enjoy and explore the Canadian Rockies while remaining close to all the amenities Canmore has to offer.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Hotel Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance operations of our busy hotel property in Canmore, Alberta, managing operations for 189 guest rooms plus resort amenities. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with solid technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving abilities, and proven experience managing hotel maintenance operations, including aquatic facilities.

This position requires an individual who is highly organized, proactive, and capable of working alongside the maintenance team to ensure the property is maintained to the highest standards for our guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operation of the hotel maintenance department
  • Maintain all guest rooms, public areas, mechanical systems, and back-of-house facilities
  • Supervise and support maintenance staff, contractors, and project work
  • Perform hands-on repairs and troubleshooting as required
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of:
  • Swimming pool
  • Hot tub
  • Waterslide
  • HVAC systems
  • Plumbing and electrical systems
  • Maintain pool chemistry and ensure compliance with Alberta Health Services regulations
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance programs and schedules
  • Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies and guest concerns
  • Assist with renovations, upgrades, and capital projects
  • Monitor maintenance inventory, supplies, and departmental budgets
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and hotel policies

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of hotel maintenance management experience
  • Valid Pool Operator Certification (required)
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Pool systems and water chemistry
  • HVAC systems
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical systems
  • General building maintenance
  • Hands-on maintenance and repair experience is essential
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced hospitality environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical work
  • Experience with resort or large hotel properties is considered an asset

Compensation & Benefits

  • $65,000 - $75,000, based on experience
