OVERVIEW
We are seeking Instructors for the Working Holiday program to provide engaging and immersive instruction for individuals participating in our Working Holiday Program. This initiative supports participants as they enhance their English language skills, explore Canadian culture, and gain valuable workplace experience in a Canadian setting. If you are passionate about education, cultural exchange, and helping individuals achieve their goals, this role is for you!
The instructor is responsible for delivering course content in a dynamic and engaging manner; implementing and correcting assignments/projects; and actively implementing course curriculum. As an instructor, you will observe and adhere to all company policies and best practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Share industry-related knowledge, expertise, and passion with the students.
-
Lesson plan and prepare materials for teaching by Robertson College curriculum provided.

Deliver face-to-face lessons to students.
-
Supplement lessons and material provided by the College.

Keep track of student performance as per the Robertson College Instructor Guide (i.e., attendance recording, grades, student engagement, and ongoing assessment)
-
Provide students with individualized, timely, constructive feedback during the course.
-
Assess and return feedback on summative assessments within 48 hours.
-
Be available to respond to students’ questions/concerns and provide information to students (respond within 24 business hours).
-
Respond to student inquiries and provide feedback in a respectful and timely manner.
-
Maintain regular contact with your supervisor about any program-related concerns or developments
-
Attend meetings and professional development sessions related to the International team and Robertson College generally
-
Evaluate student performance fairly, promptly, and consistently.
-
Collaborate with other teams (Student Services and Support, Practicum and Career Services, Teaching and Learning, etc.) to contribute positively to the student experience.
-
Support the administrative functions of the campus to enhance the student experience.
-
Act in a manner that upholds the professional expectations and standards of Robertson as outlined in Robertson’s Instructor Training Course.
-
Work with the Student Support Team to support students with academic needs where required
-
Return all textbooks, resources, and class materials upon the conclusion of the course offering.
-
Respond to final course evaluation feedback by completing a summative reflection.
-
Other program-related duties as assigned.
- New Instructors must complete Robertson College Instructor Training in Brightspace within the first five days after the contract is signed
QUALIFICATIONS
-
An undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution is required.
-
Completion of a TESL Canada-recognized training program comprising at least 120 hours of instruction and a supervised practicum.
-
A minimum of two years of experience working teaching English as an Additional Language.
-
Experience in delivering training programs for professional and educational purposes is an asset.
-
Experience working in the tourism and hospitality sector is an asset.
-
Experience with Learning Management Systems (D2L preferred) is an asset.
-
Experience with Google Workspace is an asset.
-
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, team environment.
-
Demonstrated confidence, a positive approach, and a strong work ethic.

Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks.

Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.

Ability to problem solve and process information.

Work Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Lunchtime is from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.
