A leading print manufacturer is seeking an experienced Offset Print Operator to join a growing production team on the day shift. If you’re passionate about producing exceptional print quality, take pride in your craftsmanship, and have experience operating Heidelberg offset presses, we’d like to hear from you.

The Opportunity

Position Description

As an Offset Print Operator, you will be responsible for operating Heidelberg offset press equipment to produce high-quality printed products safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

  • Set up, operate, and maintain Heidelberg offset printing presses.
  • Review job tickets and verify specifications before production begins.
  • Ensure accurate colour matching and maintain consistent print quality throughout production runs.
  • Perform press make-readies, plate changes, wash-ups, and routine adjustments.
  • Monitor registration, ink density, and overall press performance.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and print quality issues to minimize downtime and waste.
  • Conduct quality inspections throughout each production run to ensure customer specifications are met.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and basic equipment care.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with Prepress, Bindery, Maintenance, and Production teams to maximize efficiency.
  • Follow all health, safety, and quality procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience operating Heidelberg offset printing presses.
  • Experience with multi-colour sheetfed offset printing.
  • Strong understanding of colour management, ink control, registration, and print quality standards.
  • Ability to read job specifications and production documentation.
  • Experience with press maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple jobs while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative production team.
  • Flexibility to work overtime when required.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Heidelberg press equipment.
  • Knowledge of workflows and automated press controls.
  • Experience printing commercial, packaging, folding carton, or specialty print products.
