Full job description

Position Summary:

Samsung SDS plays a leading role in the global logistics market with unique logistics services. With its innovative IT technology, SDS developed the integrated logistics solution called “Cello” in 2010, started its logistics business in 2012 and expanded its logistics business with Business Process Outsourcing.

We are looking for a Drayage Specialist in operation group that will be responsible for executing and monitoring inbound drayage delivery from port or rail ramp to our warehouses or customers ensuring optimal deployment of resources to maximize service level and minimize cost.

**This role will be through a Third-Party Agency**

Responsibilities:

· Arranging drayage and trucking services across the country, including truck, rail, and airfreight

· Checking container discharge or grounded date to coordinate drayage pickup or prepull to avoid storage

· Checking container availability with LFD and coordinating trucking services while ensuring equipment is pulled out before LFD to avoid demurrage and returned before LRD to avoid detention

· Working closely with warehouses or other external customers to ensure a seamless and positive customer experience

· Scheduling and managing pickup and deliveries of shipments. Maintain continuous communication with carriers and customers to ensure a high-quality freight movement process

· Maintaining and updating accurate information in company’s operating systems, tracking shipments to completion

· Coordinating daily carrier activities with customers and operations team

· Validating freight or accessorial charges for accounts to ensure billing accuracy

· Generating operational/aging reports while reporting directly to upper management with improvement plans

· Troubleshoot disputes, claims & collections

· Proactively identifying clients' needs/problems and implementing effective solutions

· Working with upper management on KPI measurement and continuous improvement

Requirements/Qualifications:

· Minimum 2 years’ experience in international freight forwarding or drayage operation in fast-paced environment or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.

· Experience with drayage and port/rail activity

· Experience managing carrier and logistics performance monitoring and reporting

· Familiar with SSL operation and DEM/DET term

· University Degree/ Diploma in Planning/ Operations/ Supply Chain/ Logistics and/ or Business Management would be an asset.

· Availability to work flexible hours to meet the business needs as required.

· Ability to work in a team environment while delivering independent results.

· Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.

· Must have ability to work efficiently with time management and organizational skills with follow-up and follow through.

· Ability to find root-cause of the problem, and troubleshoot independently.

· Ability to drive process improvement and lead change.

· Must demonstrate ownership & responsibility for running the operation with a sense of urgency.

· Strong written/oral communication including the ability to present in front of others, and demonstrate active listening skills are required.
