- Advise on the legal aspects of domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and reorganizations
- Support tax structuring and assist with transaction execution, including review and negotiation of key legal documents (e.g., share purchase agreements)
- Work closely with tax professionals, deal advisors, and corporate lawyers as part of an integrated transaction team
- Contribute to complex, large-scale M&A engagements, including private equity and private capital transactions
- Participate in multidisciplinary deal teams supporting due diligence, structuring, and transaction execution
- Collaborate with colleagues across Canada, particularly with teams in Toronto, to leverage specialized expertise
- Build relationships with clients by delivering clear, practical legal advice in a transactional environment
- Support the continued growth of the Transaction Tax practice through collaboration and knowledge sharing
- LL.B. or J.D. and active membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta
- 3–5 years of experience in law, with an M&A focus
- Experience working on complex corporate transactions; exposure to private equity or private capital is an asset
- Strong drafting and analytical skills, particularly in transaction documentation
- Ability to operate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong experience managing large, complex transactions from start to finish
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment with competing priorities
