Job Title: Full-time Human Resources Manager

Position Summary

Caron Equipment is seeking a dedicated and motivated Human Resources Manager to support our growing operations. Reporting to senior leadership, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing guidance and support in all areas of Human Resources, including employee relations, labour relations, recruitment, workforce planning, employee engagement, compensation and benefits administration, policy development, and organizational effectiveness. This role works closely with leaders across multiple sites to ensure consistent application of HR programs, compliance with legislation and collective agreements, and the development of a positive and productive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an ambassador for Caron Equipment by promoting the company’s values, culture, reputation, and employer brand both internally and externally.
  • Foster employee engagement and support initiatives that build trust, morale, and a positive workplace culture.
  • Provide guidance and support to supervisors and managers on employee relations, labour relations, performance management, attendance management, investigations, discipline, and policy interpretation.
  • Participate in labour relations activities including collective bargaining preparation, contract administration, grievance management, and implementation of collective agreement provisions.
  • Support workforce planning initiatives including recruitment, onboarding, succession planning, employee development, and retention strategies.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to align Human Resources programs and initiatives with organizational goals and workforce requirements.
  • Monitor and report on Human Resources objectives, workforce metrics, staffing requirements, and employee trends to support informed decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain effective employee communication, feedback, and reporting mechanisms to identify opportunities for improvement and support employee engagement.
  • Provide recommendations to leadership regarding talent management, succession planning, organizational development, and workforce effectiveness.
  • Coordinate and administer compensation and benefits programs while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable legislation.
  • Support health and safety initiatives, employee wellness programs, recognition programs, and other activities that contribute to employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Ensure Human Resources policies, procedures, and programs are consistently applied across the organization and remain compliant with employment legislation and collective agreements.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, Human Resources documentation, and workforce data.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with employees, supervisors, union representatives, and leadership to promote a respectful and collaborative work environment.
  • Participate in leadership meetings and provide Human Resources expertise to support business objectives and operational success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.
  • CHRP, CHRL, or equivalent professional designation is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in construction, mining, or a unionized environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in a lead or supervisory HR capacity is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Human Resources practices, labour relations, and applicable employment legislation.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and support managers in a fast-paced, operational environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear direction and guidance.
  • Effective conflict resolution and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Highly organized with strong prioritization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
