This role is pivotal in guaranteeing high-performing equipment and promoting cross-functional teamwork to meet evolving industry demands.
If you excel in a fast-paced environment and are driven to lead a high-performing team while delivering innovative solutions, we want to hear from you.
In this role you

- Foster a high-performance culture centered on accountability, innovation, safety, and continuous improvement.
Equipment Design & Engineering Execution:
- Direct the mechanical design of EWP manufacturing systems and subsystems.
- Review and approve 3D models, fabrication drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Ensure designs meet production requirements, industry demands for uptime, throughput, durability, and safety.
- Guide prototype development, validation testing, and in-plant commissioning support.
Project & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Translate customer process requirements into equipment design specifications.
- Work closely with process engineering, controls/automation, manufacturing, and field service teams.
- Participate in project scoping, cost estimation, lead-time planning, and technical proposals.
- Manage engineering deliverables throughout the full equipment life cycle.
- Lead design reviews, risk assessments, and change management processes.
Manufacturing Support:
- Partner with fabrication, machining, and assembly teams to ensure efficient manufacturability.
- Optimize designs for cost, reliability, maintainability, and ease of installation.
- Resolve technical challenges during build, FAT, and commissioning phases.
- Support field service teams with technical troubleshooting and customer site issues.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure machinery meets EWP industry safety expectations and regulatory standards.
- Lead hazard assessments, risk reduction strategies, and documented safety validation.
- Maintain accurate and controlled engineering documentation.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- 7–15+ years of mechanical design experience with industrial equipment or heavy machinery.
- Direct experience with engineered wood product equipment or related industries (plywood/veneer, forestry, sawmills, panel board, composites, or large automated material-handling equipment).
- 3–8+ years in engineering leadership or management roles.
