# Company Overview
Ghella Canada Ltd., a global leader in tunnelling and underground construction, is seeking an experienced Planner to join our project team in Toronto. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring detailed project schedules for large-scale subway, tunnelling, and underground station works. This position offers the opportunity to work on landmark infrastructure projects that will transform the Greater Toronto Area’s transit system, within an international team known for technical excellence and innovation in underground construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with the project’s Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and contractual requirements.
  • Prepare and manage the baseline program, integrating design, procurement, and construction activities.
  • Perform critical path analysis, identify schedule risks and opportunities, and propose mitigation measures.
  • Monitor and report project progress through data collection, field validation, and collaboration with construction and engineering teams.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports, look-ahead schedules, and support management decision-making with accurate forecasting.
  • Participate in coordination and progress meetings with internal teams and client representatives.
  • Support time-impact analyses, delay assessments, and change management documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and contribute to the continuous improvement of planning standards.
  • Support the project team in bidding and tendering new projects, including preparation of preliminary schedules, construction sequencing, and resource planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • 7–10 years of planning and scheduling experience in large infrastructure projects, ideally involving tunnelling, heavy civil works, or transit systems.
  • Strong command of Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel, and related project management tools; Power BI knowledge is an asset.
  • Knowledge of TILOS software, is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in underground or complex multi-discipline construction environments (TBM tunnelling, cut-and-cover stations, shafts, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a joint venture or multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, resource loading, and cost/schedule integration principles.
