The Opportunity:

Senior Operations Manager

Location:

Greenergy Fuels Canada Inc.

Region: Canada

Location: Saint John Office, NB

Commitment to innovation and a drive to do things differently have seen Greenergy grow from a bedroom start-up to become a world leader in waste-based renewables, and the UK’s leading fuel supplier. We endeavour to approach the status quo of an established industry with fresh eyes and empower our people to develop and to deliver change through innovation. Our values underpin every interaction we have, whether with colleagues, customers, suppliers and the communities in which we operate. It is these values of Respect, Ownership, Care and Integrity that have delivered our growth as a business and developed strong customer relationships.

Choose to work for Greenergy and you’ll join a dynamic and passionate team, who are constantly looking to grow and improve.

About the role:

Greenergy is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to lead the development, implementation, and integration of a comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM) framework across our North American operations. This will be the role's primary focus and key measure of success during the first 12-15 months.

Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Projects, and SHEQ teams, the successful candidate will establish the systems, standards, governance processes, and risk management practices required to support safe, compliant, and reliable operations across the business.

Once the framework has been successfully established and embedded within the organization, the role will expand its focus to broader operational leadership responsibilities, with an anticipated progression into an Operations Management position within 18-24 months.

Key activities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a Process Safety Management framework for North American operations
  • Lead and facilitate process hazard analyses (PHA), HAZOPs, risk assessments, and management of change (MOC) reviews
  • Support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation.
  • Develop process safety standards, procedures, metrics, and reporting systems
  • Partner with Operations and Engineering teams to improve asset integrity, reliability, and operational performance
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies
  • Promote a strong process safety culture through training, coaching, and stakeholder engagement
  • Support audits, inspections, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives

Education and Experience:

  • Certificate or degree in Engineering, Business, etc. preferred
  • Health and Safety designation
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in process safety, operations, engineering, or a related industrial environment
  • Experience in oil & gas, fuels terminals, petrochemical, chemical manufacturing, bulk storage, or other high-hazard industries considered an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management principles, risk assessment methodologies, and incident investigation processes
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives

Key Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and drive results
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement

Travel Requirements

This role requires regular travel throughout Canada and the United States to support operational sites, audits, risk assessments, investigations, and process safety initiatives.

Everyone at Greenergy is encouraged to challenge the status quo of an established industry, and carve out new, efficient ways of working.

We thrive on innovation and change, and no one day is the same. Our greatest resources is our people, and our success is the result of continued dedications and commitment of our people.
