Position: Personal Care Worker

We are looking for care companions in Halifax area, multiple positions

Pay Rate: $21.00/hour

Schedule: 12-hour shifts/8-hour shifts | Casual | Day & Night Shifts

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care task support for residents.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to residents through conversation and presence
  • Monitor and supervise residents consistently, ensuring their safety and well-being
  • Escort residents within the facility, assist with mobility, and offer comfort when needed
  • Maintain awareness and report any concerns or incidents affecting resident safety
  • Intervene as appropriate to prevent harm and support de-escalation when required
  • Support privacy, dignity, and a positive living environment for all residents

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • NVCI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) Certification – Considered an asset.
  • Strong observation and communication skills
  • Calm, adaptable demeanor and quick decision-making in high-pressure situations
  • Experience working with seniors or in geriatric care is an asset
  • CCA and LPN students are welcome to apply
  • Former CCA professionals will also be considered
  • Additional training in crisis prevention or behavioral support is an advantage
