Blitz Personnel is hiring for Grinder Operators Labourers in the Oakville area. Days: 7am to 3.30pm for 1-2 weeks and will be switched to afternoons Monday to Thursday 4:00pm to 2:00am for approximately 2 months. This location is not bus accesible.

Job Description:
The Hand Grinder Operator is responsible for grinding, deburring, and finishing metal components using handheld grinding tools. This role supports production by ensuring parts meet quality, safety, and dimensional standards.

  • Using hand tools weighing 12-15 lbs to correct for repair
  • Installing Edge strips
  • Using hoists to move product
  • Using various power tools
  • Shipping & Receiving

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate handheld grinders, sanders, and related finishing tools to remove burrs, sharp edges, and imperfections.
  • Inspect parts for defects, accuracy, and finish quality throughout the process.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, ensuring tools are used and stored properly.
  • Perform minor tool maintenance (changing discs, cleaning equipment).
  • Work collaboratively with welders, fabricators, and supervisors to meet daily production targets.
  • Adhere to all workplace safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies.

Experience, Education, Qualification & Requirements:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing facility is preferred
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • High school diploma
  • Own transportation**not bus accessible**
  • Steel-toed shoes is a requirement

Work Environment:
This job is based in a production facility. Employees use equipment such CNC machines, presses and various hand tools. General labourers typical workday is 90% standing at the workstation.

Physical Demands:
Ability to stand and walk from stations, manual dexterity, and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.

Position Type & Expected Hours of Work:
Full time hours for an approximate 2 month period. This positions will start on Days Monday to Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm and will be switched to afternoons by the second or third week to Monday to Thursday 4:00pm to 2:00am.
