Function & Scope: The Quality Assurance Coordinator proactively maintains a safe working environment with a focus on prevention, quality, food safety, and continued compliance with company, customer, and regulatory program requirements. The role supports quality assurance documentation, production record verification, GMP auditing, internal audits, non-conformance management, SOP review, and follow-up on quality and food safety concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance:

· Maintain complete, accurate, and organized records for quality assurance documents and programs.· Verify production process records and follow up with operators daily to ensure completion, accuracy, and compliance.· Document quality issues, food safety concerns, and trends for review by leadership.· Maintain physical inventory and records related to hold and release programs.· Conduct daily plant GMP audits, communicate deficiencies, and establish reports and trends.· Assist in reviewing, investigating, and addressing customer complaints.· Provide relief coverage for Quality & Compliance Manager.

Audit & Compliance:

· Support implementation and ongoing maintenance of Quality and Food Safety Programs.· Conduct internal audits of products and programs to verify compliance with company and customer standards.· Review Standard Operating Procedures in accordance with the management program.· Assist with non-conformance records, supporting corrective actions, and preparing monthly reports.· Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

· Knowledge of and experience with GMP, HACCP, GFSI programs such as SQF or BRC, and/or ISO.· QA/QC experience in manufacturing, packaging, and/or distribution.· Previous experience in the food industry is considered an asset.· Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or college with specialization in Food Science is considered an asset.· Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
