Summary

We are seeking a Production Manager to join and support our manufacturing team. The Production Manager plays an integral role within our organization. You will lead by example with a collaborative approach and offer a forum where everyone feels comfortable bringing new ideas. You are passionate about safety and promote a culture where safety comes first. If you are a goal-oriented individual who has excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to multitask and execute work within deadlines, bring a strong work ethic and work well independently or in a team environment.

What You'll be Doing

  • Lead and coordinate daily manufacturing activities to meet production targets.
  • Implement process improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce waste
  • Oversee quality control procedures to ensure product standards are maintained.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Supervise production employees, maintain the quality of the product, establish priorities, and resolve problems.
  • Administer the Collective Agreement and other company policies and procedures.
  • Achieve production objectives and verify and implement manufacturing procedures.
  • Develop, train, and motivate employees by communicating job expectations, appraising job results, coaching, and performance management for employees in a timely manner.
  • Direct and assign work to production team and ensure that the employees have the training skills and authorization to perform those tasks.
  • Achieve departmental goals for safety, quality and productivity.
  • Communicate any problems or obstacles to senior management.
  • Create schedules for employees to ensure optimum staffing levels.
  • Liaise with other Department Managers to ensure coordinated effort.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Supervise assembly processes and ensure safety protocols are followed.

What you Need for Success

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in maintaining ISO 9001, and other certifications as required.
  • Excellent communication skills in a multi-cultural environment and the ability to deal with a variety of front-line employee relation issues.
  • Experience in and commitment to Good Manufacturing Practices (Lean Manufacturing).
  • Ability to meet challenging deadlines in an efficient and profitable manner.
  • Ability to use MS Office and other computer software application programs necessary for Carte International Operations.
