ABOUT US

Doepker Industries is a leading Canadian manufacturer of highway semi-trailers. We are continually developing new and innovative designs for our customers across Canada and have won awards and been recognized for business excellence and innovation since 1948.

We are currently looking for multiple permanent, full-time Fabricators and Welders to join our team at our Saskatoon location. Our shifts rotate bi-weekly Monday to Thursday from days (5 a.m. – 3:00p.m.) to afternoons (3:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.) and we accommodate shift preferences where possible.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Reporting to the Manufacturing Coordinator, the purpose of the Fabricator/Welder is to support the manufacturing flow by providing safe, efficient and quality welding processes to ensure our customers’ trailers are on schedule for delivery.

Key accountabilities include:

· Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, welding symbols, and work instructions.

· Layout, fit, align, and assemble trailer components and structural weldments.

Weld horizontal and vertical filets

· Weld vertical down filets and vertical down laps

· Torch cutting

· Maintain equipment

· Maintain a clean work area

· Follow established procedures (safe operating procedures; quality procedures; work instructions)

· Share your ideas to contribute to process improvements

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

· Experience welding on a production line

· Pre-employment or production line welding certification is an asset

· Experience using hand tools

· Strong mechanical aptitude

· Ability to think critically and problem solve

· Experience working with drawings

· Ability to collaborate with a team

· An understanding of hydraulics is an asset

· Experience welding on aluminum is an asset

· Experience with lean methodology is an asset
