Instrumentation and Controls Engineer
About NSI

We invest constantly in innovation and product quality to keep our customers at the forefront of technology. We serve local and international clients including plastic bottle manufacturers, OEMs, maintenance workshops, aerospace, and government.
The Role
Reporting to the Technical Director, Electricity and Instrumentation, you will design, develop, and deploy control and instrumentation solutions for the process control industry. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will lead large-scale projects that improve production efficiency while maintaining process and product standardization and quality.
Responsibilities
- Prepare plans, specifications, and technical documents that meet specifications set during preliminary design.
- Act as the technical lead within your area of expertise (instrumentation and electricity).
- Prepare Design Requirements Documents (DRDs) for fabrication, installation, and subcontracted work.
- Review the work of other technical team members, including specifications, calculations, drawings, equipment lists, programs, procedures, and manuals.
- Serve as a technical reference on projects across one or more areas of expertise.
- Support related engineering and deployment tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience in instrumentation (temperature, pressure, speed, vibration, etc.).
- Strong technical drawing ability with CAD software (SolidWorks or equivalent).
- Working proficiency in English.
Preferred Qualifications (Assets)
- Programming skills for Allen Bradley platforms (PLC logic and HMI interfaces). Special attention will be given to candidates who can demonstrate this.
- Hands-on, real-world experience in industrial process control and automation, beyond academic or theoretical exposure. Weighted heavily.
- Demonstrated process control and automation design know-how.
- Functional French.

Le poste
Relevant du directeur technique, Électricité et instrumentation, vous concevrez, développerez et déploierez des solutions de contrôle et d’instrumentation pour l’industrie du contrôle des procédés. Au sein d’une équipe multidisciplinaire, vous piloterez des projets d’envergure visant à améliorer l’efficacité de la production tout en assurant la normalisation et la qualité des procédés et des produits.
Responsabilités
- Préparer les plans, devis et documents techniques répondant aux spécifications établies lors de la conception préliminaire.
- Agir à titre de responsable technique dans votre domaine d’expertise (instrumentation et électricité).
- Préparer les documents d’exigences de conception (DRD) pour la fabrication, l’installation et les travaux donnés en sous-traitance.
- Vérifier le travail des autres membres de l’équipe technique, incluant les spécifications, calculs, dessins, listes d’équipements, programmes, procédures et manuels.
- Agir à titre de référence technique sur les projets dans un ou plusieurs domaines d’expertise.
- Effectuer toute autre tâche connexe d’ingénierie et de déploiement selon les besoins.
Qualifications requises
- Baccalauréat en génie électrique ou dans une discipline du génie étroitement liée.
- De 3 à 5 ans d’expérience pertinente dans l’industrie en instrumentation (température, pression, vitesse, vibration, etc.).
- Solides compétences en dessin technique avec un logiciel de CAO (SolidWorks ou équivalent).
- Maîtrise fonctionnelle de l’anglais.
Qualifications souhaitées (atouts)
- Compétences en programmation pour les plateformes Allen Bradley (logique API et interfaces IHM). Une attention particulière sera accordée aux candidats pouvant en faire la démonstration.
- Expérience concrète et pratique en contrôle des procédés industriels et en automatisation, au-delà d’une exposition académique ou théorique. Critère fortement pondéré.
- Savoir-faire démontré en conception de contrôle des procédés et d’automatisation.
- Français fonctionnel.
