Fire Extinguisher Technician / Alarm Helper Full-Time

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Fire Protection Technician / Alarm Helper to join our team. This role is ideal for someone interested in building a career in the fire protection and life safety industry. The successful candidate will assist with fire alarm systems, fire extinguisher inspections and servicing, and support a variety of fire protection-related tasks.

This is a hands-on role that requires adaptability and a willingness to contribute across multiple areas of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems
  • Support senior technicians on fire alarm projects and service calls
  • Perform fire extinguisher inspections, maintenance, and servicing (both on-site and in-shop)
  • Assist with general fire protection system inspections and compliance checks
  • Maintain accurate documentation and service records
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable fire codes, safety standards, and company procedures
  • Provide general support across departments as needed

Qualifications & Skills

  • Interest in fire protection systems, alarm systems, or life safety industry
  • Previous experience in fire protection, electrical work, or a related field is an asset
  • Enrollment in or completion of an electrical apprenticeship program is considered an asset
  • Registration with or interest in certification through CFAA (Canadian Fire Alarm Association) is an asset
  • Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's license

Pay: $23.00-$30.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Grande Prairie, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
