Full job description

We are a telecommunications company looking for a Field Service Technician.

This is primarily a field service position in Alberta with some shop activities in the Grande Prairie between field service work.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have an EET, Electronics Engineering Technician/Technologist diploma with 2-3 years field/work experience

Primary Duties:

Installation and servicing of Rig telecommunication and gas detection systems. This position requires good interpersonal skills when dealing with customers and other service personnel with rig/tower climbing experience a must.

Experiance in Combo units (generators,light towers,portable potty systems) will be given priority

This person must:

· have excellent interpersonal skills

· be able to represent the Company in a professional manner

· be able to climb derricks

· have a flexible schedule

· be able to work alone and is a self starter

· have the ability to learn on the job and do things as per Company standard operating procedures.

· have a valid driver’s license and clean driver's abstract

· be able to perform equipment lifting, installation and perform manual tasks

· experience with telecommunications systems and components

· live in or around Grande Prairie

This position includes configuration, installation, servicing and troubleshooting of equipment and systems used in the industry which includes but is not limited to;

· antenna and RF systems

· portable gas detectors

· rental radios

· rental computers

· security trailers

Company truck, tools, safety gear and training on all equipment is provided for you to get to and from jobs safely and efficiently. Our primary business is the rental market throughout Alberta, Northern BC and Southern Saskatchewan. We develop and customize our products to work in the harsh and remote areas of the oil patch. A lot of time and effort is spent in the development of all our own software and electronics that we use. This allows us to have complete control over the way our products work.
