Description

We are seeking an experienced and licensed Journeyman Electrician (309A) to join our team in the Ottawa Region. The ideal candidate will not only be skilled in electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, but will also have the ability to lead small crews on commercial and industrial projects.

This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can coordinate work on-site, ensure compliance with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC), and maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Critical Requirements

A successful candidate will possess the following critical requirements:

  • A valid Red Seal 309A electrical license
  • 5 plus years of relevant electrical experience in a commercial setting as a journeyman electrician
  • Extensive knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Code (OEC)
  • A valid G class driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Skills

  • Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations in accordance to local codes
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
  • Successfully able to run small jobs in a timely manner with little to no supervision
  • Installing conduit and wire and terminating conductors
  • Troubleshooting circuitry and replacing damaged components on industrial equipment and systems
  • Ordering required parts and controlling all job materials
  • Completing work orders as per client specifications and input; reviewing the completed job with the customer, to ensure complete satisfaction
  • Installation and maintenance of electrical systems including EMT, PVC, and rigid conduit, cable tray, instrumentation and controls wiring (BAS and lighting), new service installations, lighting installations, EVSE's, solar and more
  • Experience with tenant fit-ups / renovations
