Full job description

Who is Prolex Media?

Prolex Media is a creative collective that pushes boundaries to produce bold, high-production video content for our clients. We specialize in scroll-stopping video ads and short-form content that get results. Our goal is simple: make an ad for the Super Bowl. If that mission is exciting to you, we want to meet you.

What's the Job?

We’re looking for an editor with taste. Someone who watches a cut and instinctively knows when to hold a beat two frames longer, when the cut on the breath, when to break the rule.

In this role, you’ll lead the post-production process for our large productions. Working alongside the Creative Director to shape raw footage into the final piece. You’ll take over at the rough cut and handoff stage after production wraps, owning the cut from assembly through to final delivery. You’ll handle editing, colour grading, sound mixing, motion graphics, and any After Effects work needed to bring each piece across the finish line. The Creative Director relays client feedback, and you execute revisions to the client’s specifications without losing the work’s voice.

Your primary focus will be large productions for our clients’ brands and Prolex’s own brand, with the occasional pull into social edits to cover the team during time off or peak workload.

If you’re passionate about storytelling, love trying new things, and ready to shape the editorial voice of a growing creative team, this role is for you.

What You'll Be Doing

Post-Production Leadership

  • Lead all post-production work on large productions, taking over at the rough cut and handoff stage.
  • Own the cut from assembly through final delivery, including colour grading, sound mixing, motion graphics, and After Effects.
  • Set and evolve Prolex's editorial style guidelines.

Creative Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Creative Director to refine the edit, integrate client feedback, and bring each piece to final.
  • Collaborate with the broader creative team to ensure the post-production vision aligns with what was captured on set.
  • Bring fresh references and ideas to creative reviews, including references from outside the marketing world.

Coverage & Flexibility

  • Step in on social edits as needed to cover the team during time off or peak workload.

Team Development

  • Mentor junior editors as the team grows.
  • Share knowledge to elevate the editorial bar across the broader team.

Who We're Looking For

  • Style. Your reel has a voice. We can watch three of your edits in a row and feel the same hand on the timeline.
  • Flavour. You make informed choices. Music, sound design, type, motion, colour, pacing decisions that make the work feel alive instead of competent.
  • Boundary-pushing. You're not afraid to suggest the unexpected cut. You pull references from outside the marketing world.
  • Pacing. You understand that pacing is the story. You know how to hold tension, when to let something breathe, when to hit hard.
  • Storytelling. You can take raw footage and find the through-line. You think about emotional arc, not just a sequence of clips.
  • Uniqueness. You don't reach for the same transitions, templates, or "agency look" every time.

Must Have Skills:

  • 4+ years editing professionally.
  • Fluency in Premiere and DaVinci Resolve.
  • Colour grading experience.
  • After Effects and motion graphics skills
  • A clear point of view about the work you want to make.

Preferred (But Not Required):

  • Agency or in-house brand experience.
  • Sound design experience.
  • Experience mentoring or leading other editors.

What's in It for You?

  • Growth & Learning: We hire for talent and potential, not just the role. We want to hear about your ideal future and help you develop the skills to get there.
  • Creative Freedom: Your ideas matter, and you'll have the space to pitch, create, and experiment.
  • Benefits: Access to a health spending account with a variety of coverage options.
  • Fun, Dynamic Team Culture: Regular team outings, from Uno at lunch to casual Friday brews to Spike Ball at the park.

How to Apply

Please submit your reel (3–5 pieces of your best work, with a quick note on what you did on each) along with your resume.

Please note that a work sample is required to be considered for this role. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

We're excited to hear from you!
